    Digital Navigator Job Description May 2023

    Title: Digital Navigator

    Reports to: The Digital Navigator will report to Essential Families Chief Operating Officer

    Job Overview: The Digital Navigator provides individualized or small group assistance to [community members, or specify eligible group(s)] who need affordable home internet service, affordable internet-capable devices, and/or coaching in introductory digital skills to become effective home internet users. This assistance is provided primarily by NoW video conference platform but may also include phone call from Digital Navigator Portal, email, text, or fax.

    The Digital Navigator’s work is part of the Essential Broadband Program and the Essential Families Digital Divide Closure Partner Program. Digital Navigator is a full-time position.


    Included Virtual Wrap Around Support Services

    1. ACP Internet Access Assistance- For additional training, existing Digital Navigator will assist our Digital Navigator student with Affordable Connectivity Plan registration, and assist with selecting best Internet Service Provider, for the individual or family.
    2. Laptop computer- Refurbished Laptop computers to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential through digital technology.
    3. Computer and Internet Training- Basic computer knowledge about how computers work and how to use them. Include typing, learning keyboard commands, powering a computer on and off, knowing how to connect and disconnect the Internet to a computer.  Additional training.
    4. Virtual Parental Education- Offering weekly 90-minute virtual parental education by trained Virtual Parental Educators (VPE), who will support expectant mothers, parents, or guardians of children birth to nineteen (19).
    5. Virtual Mental Healthcare- Providing 6 secure Virtual Mental Healthcare Sessions with licensed Therapists, Counselors, and Psychiatrists. No wait list. EAP model.
    6. EveryThing- Providing local essential “basic need” resources for Families, through multiple languages, using Google model, at your fingertip!
    7. NoW Video Conference- Easy Video Conference Anywhere you can Trust.
    8. Z Trip (transportation)- Halfway completion of Virtual Parental Education and/or Virtual Mental Healthcare, student will be eligible to receive one month, up to $50, on-demand black car and taxi service that promises to be a more reliable choice in the ride-sharing space.
    9. Child Care Payment Assistant- Halfway completion of Virtual Parental Education and/or Virtual Mental Healthcare, Child Care Program will pay for 2 weeks of childcare costs.

    The Remote Digital Marketing Professional is comprised of three (3) strong and proven Digital Marketing strategies, techniques, and product components. To provide our Remote Digital Marketing Professional Program, Essential Families partnered with Emeritus, in collaboration with Columbia Business School, Global Home Business, and 3rd Wave Marketing.

    Students will learn about the key digital marketing channels and strategies available in a rapidly changing marketplace. While social networks come and go and apps gain fame and decline in popularity, you’ll learn about the frameworks and strategies behind them, so that your decision making can be applied to whatever the next big thing in digital marketing might be.

    You'll learn how to think strategically so that you can identify what's right for your customer and your organization based on best practices and analytics. This program is based on Professor David Rogers' program on Digital Marketing Strategies taught to executives that come to Columbia Business School from all over the world. This program focuses on how marketers can reach digitally savvy audiences, build deep customer relationships, and influence the digital path to purchase.

    Digital Navigator Job Description May 2023

    Description

    A Virtual Parental Educator provides 15 sessions weekly, 90 minute each to expectant mothers, parent, or guardians of children birth to nineteen years of age. Service areas include health, nutrition, family engagement, mental wellness, and education.

    Virtual Parental Educator Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide Essential Families with credentials.
    • Complete W-9.
    • Complete True Colors Personality Assessment
    • Complete ACH form.
    • Obtain and provide a copy of Criminal Background Check
    • Obtain liability insurance
    • Complete required 13.8 hours of online training with the Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals
    • Agrees to attend additional training identified by Essential Families.
    • Attends Virtual Meetings and or trainings offered by Essential Families.
    • Agrees to receive referrals from Essential Families client intake form.
    • Maintain confidentiality as required by HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and/or as other state or federal law requires.
    • Agrees to use Essential Families NoW video platform to conduct Virtual Parent Education sessions. Develops rapport with children, parents and or guardians.
    • Ensures a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participants needs.
    • Establishes a professional relationship and climate of mutual trust and respect, ensuring that all services are conducted in a manner which is respectful of the beliefs, practices, history, and culture of program participants and their families.
    • Works with parents and guardians to develop individualized program for expectant mother and children birth to five; including learning experiences that will advance their intellectual and physical competence, improve their readiness for school, through development of language, vocabulary, and problem-solving skills.
    • Assists parent/guardians to strengthen the family’s knowledge of child development, health, and nutrition topics.
    • Plans and conducts (implement lesson plans) educational activities with parents or guardians based on a method of observing and recording children’s interest to identify the child’s intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs.
    • Assist expectant mothers to strengthen their knowledge of prenatal development, health, and nutrition topics. Plans and conducts lesson plans based on term of pregnancy as well as ensuring the social and emotional needs are supported.
    • Works closely with Essential Families Education Coordinator, Inclusion Coordinator, Mental Health Coordinator, Early Childhood Programs, School Districts, as appropriate, for shared activities, registrations, and smooth transitions.
    • Reviews families identified objectives to ensure established goals are met.
    • Support the family in understanding the complete assessment cycle.
    • Immediately supports safety concerns and potential hazards identified to Essential Families point of contact.
    • Conducts up to 3 Virtual Parent Education sessions per day for assigned caseload of 10-12 families.
    • Conducts regularly scheduled 90-minute Virtual Parent Education sessions, and is responsible for case management, family advocacy and education.
    • Conducts regularly scheduled 60 minute bi-weekly Virtual Parent Education sessions, with expectant mothers, prior to 3rd trimester, weekly during the 3rd trimester, and is responsible for case management, family advocacy, and education.
    • Complete Session Assessment at the end of each session to ensure services are complete for payment submission Provide Essential Families with a 24-hour notice via email if services between client and provider are terminated
