I was a Realtor for 22 years and dealt with many people. I'm also an author and a breast cancer survivor.
I have worked with computers since the 1980's, when I was in high school. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood focus and a minor in History. I taught in Iowa for 4 years then shifted to Sales due to insurance needs. Eventually I moved to Missouri where I worked as a store manager for an IT shop, repairing and troubleshooting various desktops, laptops and servers. I managed our on-site employees and did much of the customer support and troubleshooting over the phone for clients. I eventually moved on to an Infrastructure Support position for a software company, working with clients across the country, managing the after hours phone for a week at a time, every 3 weeks. I assisted them with software issues, networking troubleshooting, etc. I worked with research hospitals, accessing and troubleshooting configuration errors, maintaining confidentiality abiding HIPAA laws. I was approached to teach IT at our local technical center and was hired for that position. I am starting my 6th year teaching IT, Cybersecurity, networking and Computer Science. Last August I finished my Master's of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance within an 18 month period. I also started a scholastic Esports program and am currently involved in my 4th year, where we compete in 7 events scattered through 3 seasons throughout the school year.

Graduated from HBCU Prairie View A&M University, B.S in Industrial Technology, MBA from Baker University SPGS. Retired from General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant, 34 years of service.
Father of 9 children, Artist, and Person of Lived Experience (previously houseless), I work with several non-profits to connect each person to the services that best fit their needs. Being Disabled and having experience with multi-racial family, LGABTQIA+, and a host of other experiences has led me to see that there are many solutions still not available to those that need them. I have made it a priority in my life to see the betterment of societal issues in Kansas City, advance to something that could be a model to others. It's my hope that through collaboration, and a larger sense of community, we can truly do better as a Human Race, more sustainably, and healthier than ever.
